Job summary

Meallmore’s Daviot care home in Inverness is seeking a Care Assistant to provide high-quality care to residents, including those with dementia and mental health needs. The role offers mentorship and development opportunities to progress to senior roles.

You will register with SSSC (Meallmore will support you) and work to Meallmore standards, with ongoing training and benefits in a supportive team environment.

Salary £13.50 per hour plus overtime; full-time, part-time and bank hours available.

• Desirable: SVQ level 2 or above in Health and Social Care.
• Desirable: willingness to register with SSSC (Meallmore will support).

Care Assistant

Our Meallmore team at Daviot are ready to warmly welcome you as a Care Assistant within their care home. Located in Inverness in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, Daviot Care Home provides high quality nursing care for residents affected by general frailty and also has specialist units for those living with dementia and mental health conditions.

Our mentorship programme and ongoing learning and development will give you all the support you need to develop your skills and progress in your career whether that be as a Senior Care Assistant or a Senior Care Practitioner, the choice is yours!

If you're not already working as a care assistant, you will be required to register to the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council), Meallmore will support you with this process.

Your role as a Meallmore Care Assistant will include:

• To promote/provide a high quality of care and support in accordance with Individual care/support plans.
• To assist in creating wellbeing within a caring environment and be involved in the general activities of the home.
• To adhere to Meallmore Standards, Policies and Procedures, National Care Standards.
• To work in line with the SSSC codes of Practice.
• Collaborate with care staff in your department and wider teams.
• Carry out personal care duties.

Desirable skills:

• Working towards the qualification to meet SSSC registration requirements.
• SVQ level 2 or above/equivalent in Health and Social Care (as per SSSC guidelines) is desirable.
• Communication and relationship building skills.
• Kind caring nature.
