Job summary

Bluebird Care in Flitwick is seeking a caring Care Assistant to join our expert team and help us deliver high-quality home care. You will support customers with daily living, personal care, meals, medication, and light housekeeping, working flexibly with part-time evenings and weekends shifts.

We offer comprehensive training, DBS check paid, mileage allowance, and company pool cars where needed. No sponsorship; driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience in care is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to follow care plans and work flexibly.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs.
• Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition.
• Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal.
• Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning.
• Be a dependable friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for.

Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs
• Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming)

• Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning

• Part time hours evenings and weekends only
• Weekdays £13.20 per hour
• Bank Holidays £21.50 per hour
• Full comprehensive training and shadowing
• CRB/DBS check paid for
• Work smartphone provided if required
• Paid holiday
• Paid mileage - 30p per mile
• Company pool cars available for use if ever needed
• Attendance bonus paid annually before Christmas
• Ongoing support and encouraged progression

Requirements

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• A kind, compassionate attitude and a calm approach to care
• Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to follow care plans
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not a necessity as full training will be provided
