Job summary

Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH, is recruiting for a dedicated complex care role in Epsom to support a child with special medical needs, delivering compassionate, person-centred care within a supportive team. You will provide specialist care including tracheostomy care, ventilation support and PEG feeding, assist with daily living and activities, and work under a registered nurse.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as is commitment to training and ongoing

Responsibilities

• Join a dedicated care team supporting a child with complex medical needs.

• Assist with daily living, light domestic tasks, and a range of social and sensory activities.
• Work in line with an individualised care plan under supervision of a registered nurse.

Job Description

What you’ll do

Join a dedicated care team supporting a delightful and sociable child to reach his full potential.

You will provide specialist care for a child with complex medical needs, supporting daily living, light domestic tasks, and a range of social and sensory activities, including messy and water play, outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, and attending discos.

Care will be delivered in line with an individualised care plan and includes tracheostomy care, ventilation support, PEG feeding for hydration, and specialist moving and handling due to spinal instability.

You will be fully supported by theAdvantage HealthcareLondon branch, with regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training and clinical support from a registered nurse.

Qualifications

What you’ll need

Prior to the interview stage you need to have the following experience to be eligible:

• Experience working in a complex care setting.
• Experience in moving and handling.
• Experience in tracheostomy & PEG feed care.
• Experience of looking after a ventilated child.
• Experience with suctioning.
• Experience with Makaton or alternative communication methods.
• You will need to be a car driver due to the location.
