Job summary

Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH, is seeking a caregiver to provide overnight care for a non-verbal child with CHARGE syndrome in Ockley. You will assist with ventilated care, PEG feeding, hydration and oxygen as outlined in the care plan.

You'll work with the London branch team, with regular supervision and support from a registered nurse to ensure competent, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a complex care setting.
• Experience with PEG feeds and administration of medication.
• Experience with suctioning.
• Experience caring for non-verbal children; sign-supported and/or sensory communication.
• You will need to be a car driver due to the location.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight care to the client in line with the care plan.
• Support ventilated child with PEG feeds, hydration and oxygen as required.
• Attend regular supervision and team meetings with a registered nurse.

Job Description

What you’ll do

Be a part of a special care team delivering care to our client who is a delightful child to support him to reach his full potential.

The client has CHARGE syndrome and due to this the client has a multitude of impairments where you will deliver overnight care in line with the care plan which includes, care of the ventilated child, PEG feeds via mini-button for medication, hydration and nutrients, oral suctioning and oxygen administration.

You will be supported by Advantage Healthcare London branch and invited to attend regular supervisions and team meetings. A registered nurse will ensure you are competent in our client’s care needs and support with any clinical concerns and queries you may have.

What you’ll need

Prior to the interview stage you need to have the following experience to be eligible:

• Experience working in a complex care setting.
• Experience withPEG feeds and administering medication via this method.
• Experience with suctioning.
• Experience of caring for children who non-verbal in nature, sign-supported and/or sensory communication.
• You will need to be a car driver due to the location.
