Job description

About The Role

In your role as a Care Assistant at HC-One, you’ll value kindness above all. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them with their own stories to tell.
By joining HC-One, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant to join our team. Whether providing long-term, short-term, convalescence, respite, or palliative care, our focus is on delivering the highest quality service at all times.
As a Care Assistant, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. Your duties include assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, hygiene, dressing, and meals.

Deliver care that truly comes from the heart, ensuring residents maintain dignity and individuality. You might help someone with limited mobility use an aid, offer emotional support to a distressed resident, or provide end-of-life care, always prioritizing their well-being.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to seek advice and report concerns as needed.

About HC-One

At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It’s a core value that involves caring about what matters most to our residents so they can lead their best lives.

Our team embodies five key qualities, known as Kindness the HC-One Way: curiosity, compassion, creativity, courage, and reliability. We foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and can be themselves, learning from each other to better serve our communities.

We support our colleagues’ professional and personal growth through career pathways, CPD, and postgraduate programs. HC-One is committed to investing in your development and offering opportunities to progress into regional and national roles.

We provide comprehensive training and a variety of benefits to support your well-being, including:

  • Great work-life balance
  • An hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications
  • Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
  • Free uniform
  • Nutritious meals during shifts of eight hours or more
  • Company pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
  • Group life assurance
  • Wagestream for flexible pay access
  • Learning and development programs
  • GP online consultations for you and your children under 16
  • Access to high street discounts
  • Employee Assistance Programme for support
  • Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards
  • Refer-a-friend scheme up to £1000 per referral

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to a quick onboarding process with full support from day one.
