Job summary

Silverleigh Care Home in Axminster, Devon is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team. You will support residents with daily living, personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, following care plans to maintain dignity and independence.

We offer training and ongoing development, 36-48 hours per week at £13.00 per hour, and alternate weekend work. A paid DBS pension and uniform are provided to support you in delivering warm, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Previous care experience beneficial but not essential.
• Full training and ongoing development provided to support your journey.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living, including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
• Follow care plans and recognise changes in condition to maintain safe, responsive care.

Silverleigh is a beautiful care home, situated at the heart of a thriving community in a quiet street in the centre of Axminster, Devon. Silverleigh is registered for 65 residents.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.00 per hour
• Contracted to 36-48 hours per week
• Paid DBS pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.

You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
