The Vacancy

McCarthy Stone is recruiting a professional Care & Support Assistant to join the team at our prestigious Gilbert Place development in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Built in 2021, Gilbert Place is a Retirement Living Plus development with 65 apartments designed for the over 70s, offering excellent on-site facilities within beautiful grounds. This is not traditional care; this is better!

Hourly rate: £12.39 per hour, plus up to an additional £1.30 for evening and weekend hours.

Hours: 20 per week

About the role

As a Care & Support Assistant, you will provide high-quality individual care to our residents, enabling them to live well in later life. Your duties will include housekeeping, domestic support, supporting residents' activities, helping with appointments, arranging transport, escorting visits, and assisting with shopping. Every day will be diverse, providing opportunities to make a real difference through your people skills.

About You

• You will be warm, friendly, and ideally have some experience in care or support environments.
• You will have a passion for enhancing the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working in a team.
• You will be committed to delivering excellent customer service.
• You will want to work in the Health and Social Care sector, preferably holding a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification, though relevant experience and alternative qualifications will be considered.
