Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Basildon is seeking a Staff Nurse to join Chelmer Ward on a 37.5 hour, full-time basis. This 12-month secondment covers maternity leave in a supportive surgical setting.

You will rotate across the Directorate, provide high‑quality care, maintain accurate records, and promote safety and staff education in line with Trust policies.

Required NMC registration; IV course and mentorship training are advantageous; NHS acute care experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is required.
• IV course training desirable.
• Recognised teaching/mentorship course desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard nursing care to patients and families.
• Follow care pathways, document notes legibly and accurately.
• Ensure patient safety and report incidents promptly.
