Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Band 7 ward lead for a 28-bed Cardiology ward in Leeds. The post offers 24-hour responsibility for operational and clinical governance, leading the nursing team, and ensuring patient safety and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current registration (RN Adult for adult areas or RN Child for children’s areas).
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience delivering high-quality patient care and safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• 24-hour responsibility for the effective management of the ward/department.
• Provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team.
• Oversee staffing, attendance, appraisals and mandatory training.
• Manage ward operations and resources to ensure high standards of care.
