Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse for a 9-month secondment on Ward 6A, Cardiology, Royal Liverpool Hospital. You will lead, plan and evaluate individualised patient care while ensuring staffing levels meet safe care standards.

The role requires senior nursing leadership, clinical expertise in cardiology, and active involvement in staff development, audit, and policy adherence. NHS values and patient-centred care are central to this post.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
• Post registration qualification in speciality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ward/department planning, allocation and evaluation of work.
• Provide specialist knowledge to nursing staff on the ward/department.
• Promote a critical, analytical approach to nursing care and ensure environment supports current issues.
• Assist in review and update of procedures and protocols per Trust policies.
• Develop methods to identify and improve quality of patient care through best practice and benchmarking.
• Respect patient and family values, beliefs and spirituality.
• Support expanded practice as required within specialist area.
