Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Lancashire is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for Ward 37, a 33-bed cardiology unit within the Tertiary Division. The post is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a closing date of 28 October 2026.

You will support registered nursing staff, help patients with daily activities, document observations and contribute to a safe, compassionate ward environment. Training and development are encouraged.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2/3 in Care or equivalent.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• Excellent command of English in verbal communication.
• Care Competency Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Support registered nursing staff in delivering safe and effective care.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as washing, dressing and mobility.
• Document care and report any changes in condition to the nursing team.
• Maintain professional standards and infection prevention measures.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
• Contribute to ward quality standards and audits.
