Job summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust currently advertises a Cardiology Pre-assessment Nurse Practitioner role. Qualifications
- Experience in cardiology pre-assessment is desirable.
- Ability to work as an independent practitioner.
- Strong liaison with MDT colleagues and consultants.
Responsibilities
- To work as an independent Practitioner under supervision of the Senior Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Case Manager or Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP).
- Undertake competency-based patient assessment and examination to formulate management plans for pre-operative patients.
- Prepare patients for surgical and cardiology interventions, including consent and ordering investigations as needed.
- Highlight potential complications to the Senior Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Case Manager or medical colleagues.
- Be adaptable across environments and work to a rota while completing Nurse Practitioner competencies.
