Job summary

ALTEN in Cardiff is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer to support our food and beverage manufacturing projects. You will coordinate site-based engineering activities, oversee installation and commissioning of new processes, and ensure safe, on-time delivery.

Based on-site with hybrid working 2-3 days on site, you will liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to drive project success through planning, execution, and handover.

Qualifications

• Strong project engineering or management experience in manufacturing.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and workstreams.
• Understanding of process industries and facility-based projects.
• Experience supporting commissioning and implementation activities.
• Knowledge of brewing or beverage production processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of site-based engineering and facility improvement projects.
• Oversee implementation and commissioning of new process and piping systems.
• Manage day-to-day communication between contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules, risks, issues, and actions to ensure delivery.
• Support ramp-up and ramp-down activities through the lifecycle.
• Ensure all activities are completed safely and in accordance with site standards and procedures.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
• Support go-live activities and ensure a smooth transition into operational use.
• Review contractor performance and ensure deliverables align with project requirements.
