Job summary

Wexham Park Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Disease Risk Management Exercise Professional to join its multidisciplinary team. You will help patients improve their physical fitness, confidence and cardiovascular health through individually tailored exercise programmes.

The role covers assessment, exercise prescription and delivery of rehabilitation programmes, with opportunities to contribute to clinical audit, research and service improvement to maintain high standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Exercise prescription: Designing safe, appropriate exercise programmes for patients with cardiac and cardio-respiratory conditions.
• Exercise delivery: Supervising and delivering exercise sessions as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Patient assessment: Taking part in initial and final assessments of patients entering and completing the cardiac disease risk management programme.
• Clinical safety: Ensuring exercise is appropriate for patients recovering from cardiac events and those with existing cardio-respiratory disease.
• Evidence-based practice: Keeping exercise prescription aligned with current research, guidelines and best practice.
• Audit and research: Participating in clinical audit, research and evidence-based improvement projects.
• Service improvement: Helping introduce changes to practice and monitoring whether standards and outcomes are maintained.
