An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5/6 Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practitioner within the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy and friendly team. The department provides a wide range of investigations including Electrocardiograms, Holter ECG monitoring, Pacemaker/ICD implant and follow-up, Angiography, Electrophysiology studies, and Echocardiography.

The post holder will have opportunities for development in both invasive and non-invasive cardiology. Continued professional and personal development is encouraged, with support to develop postgraduate skills. Entry at Band 5 allows progression to Band 6 after achieving competencies, typically within 18 months.
Successful applicants should have a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or Healthcare Science (Cardiac Science), or equivalent. Final year students will be considered. RCCP / AHCS registration is desirable.
Our staff manage around 6,500 patient contacts daily, providing high-standard healthcare across various sites including:
o Freeman Hospital
o Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI)
o Health Innovation Neighbourhood
o Newcastle Dental Hospital
o Newcastle Fertility Centre
o Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria
o Northern Genetics Service
These services incorporate cutting-edge diagnostics supported by advanced radiology and pathology, fostering innovation and pioneering NHS practices.
We also operate from offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and various community sites.
