Job summary

Frimley Park Hospital within Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Band 5 Cardiac Physiologist. The role covers non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations, including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance testing and cath lab support with on-call rota potential.

Required: BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent and HCPC registration; NHS experience encouraged. The post offers professional development and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Wide knowledge of cardiac investigation procedures.
• Proficiency in exercise tolerance testing.
• Proficiency in resting and ambulatory ECG and BP recording and interpretation.
• Good knowledge of angiography.
• Basic IT skills and numerical data handling.
• Awareness of national cardiology guidelines and safety standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Initiative and problem-solving; able to work with some supervision.

Responsibilities

• Carry out non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations autonomously.
• Perform 12-lead ECGs and fit ambulatory monitors; report findings.
• Lead exercise tolerance testing with patient safety in mind.
• Develop independent practice in the cath lab and assist procedures.
• Develop interventional skills in IVUS, etc., as training allows.
• Participate in emergencies and on-call rota as needed.
• Maintain CPD and adhere to safety and clinical guidelines.
