Job summary

HR GO Group is seeking a Car Van Service Technician in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. Join a busy workshop servicing a rental fleet of over 250+ vehicles.

You will perform servicing, diagnostics, tyre fitting and general mechanical work to manufacturer standards, with a focus on quality and safety in a fast-paced environment. A full UK driving licence and relevant automotive qualifications are preferred, but demonstrable experience will be considered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in vehicle repair and servicing.
• Competent in tyre fitting and workshop tasks.
• Strong mechanical skills and diagnostics.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Automotive qualifications preferred (NVQ/IMI) but demonstrable experience counts.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle servicing and routine maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out tyre fitting, balancing and replacement.
• Complete inspections, safety checks and paperwork on time.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet turnaround targets and deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain tools and workspace and report parts and material needs.

Are you a skilled and reliable technician looking to join a busy, fast-paced workshop? We are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Service Technician to carry out vehicle repair and servicing, tyre fitting and general mechanical work on a rental fleet of over 250+ vehicles within a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vehicle servicing and routine maintenance to manufacturer standards
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicles
• Carry out professional tyre fitting, balancing and replacement
• Complete inspections, safety checks and service paperwork accurately and on time
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet turnaround targets and deliver excellent customer service
• Maintain tools, equipment and a tidy workspace; report parts and material needs

Skills and experience required

• Proven experience in vehicle repair and vehicle servicing
• Competent in tyre fitting and related workshop tasks
• Strong mechanical skills and diagnostic ability
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting targets
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
