Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an organised administrator to support the Capital Development team across sites (Wycombe Wycombe General and Stoke Mandeville). You will handle procurement, PMO support, meetings, minute-taking, and cross-site admin for capital projects, with flexible working options and NHS benefits.

The role includes providing essential administrative, financial, and programme management support to deliver capital investment programmes, with a focus on governance

Qualifications

  • Qualification at Level 3 or above or equivalent experience in admin or project support.
  • Good English and numeracy skills.
  • Experience raising purchase orders and using procurement/e-procurement systems.

Job overview

The Capital Development team plays a critical role in delivering the Trust’s capital investment programme, including new builds, refurbishments, and equipment replacement schemes across all sites. Working across a complex and high-value portfolio, the team ensures robust financial management, effective governance, and consistent programme oversight.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and proactive administrator to support the Capital Development team. This role sits at the heart of the team’s day-to-day operations, providing essential administrative, financial, and programme management support to enable the successful delivery of capital projects.

Main duties of the job
  • Procurement and Financial Administration
  • PMO and Programme Support
  • Meetings, Minute-taking, and Administration
  • Provide flexible administrative support across Property Services priorities as directed, ensuring duties remain commensurate with the grade and scope of the post.
  • Provide holiday cover for other administrative services, such as car parking administration; accommodation office; input and track of overtime and on-call for engineers on healthroster system; diary management and meeting co-ordination.

Person specification
Education
  • Qualifications at Level 3 or above (e.g. A level, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, diploma) or equivalent experience in an administrative or project support role.
  • A good standard of English and numeracy skills.
Experience
  • Experience of raising purchase orders and working with procurement or e-procurement systems.
  • Experience of minute-taking and agenda preparation in a professional setting
  • Experience of supporting a project or programme office, including maintaining trackers, dashboards, or project logs.
Skills
  • Confident use of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Ability to produce clear documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence, and to use shared digital workspaces effectively.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels
