Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is hiring an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Finance Directorate on a full-time basis. The team operates a hybrid office-based and home-working model.

You will deliver accurate capital accounting information, support managers and budget holders, and monitor the Trust’s cash position. The role requires flexibility in weekly patterns and proficiency with Microsoft Office and finance ledger systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in capital accounting and cash reporting is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and finance ledger systems is required.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and communicate with a range of contacts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day fixed asset and cash accounting.
• Carry out monthly analysis of capital transactions and prepare papers for meetings.
• Produce daily cash reporting and account for direct debits.
• Oversee petty cash and train petty cash holders.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and post general ledger journals.
• Support the annual accounts process and liaise with auditors.
• Provide accounting advice to internal stakeholders and assist with policy development.
