Job summary

Nestlé UK & Ireland is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital investment initiatives across our York and Girvan manufacturing sites. You will drive design, implementation and start-up for projects ranging from 50k to 20 million, partnering with Operations, R&D, Marketing and Logistics to ensure timely delivery within budget and to Nestlé safety standards.

The role reports to the Capex Manager in the Confectionery category and requires strong collaboration, safety leadership and the ability

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Technical knowledge of modern automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (CE, PUWER, machinery safety).
• Experience leading engineering projects in manufacturing (FMCG preferred).
• Knowledge of CDM regulations is beneficial.
• Familiarity with process and packaging equipment.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office, AutoCAD LT, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver capital engineering projects within budgets and timescales.
• Support development of project scope, schedules and budgets for new investments.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver outcomes while upholding safety and hygiene standards.
• Champion compliance with Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
• Lead commissioning and start-up of plant and equipment to meet performance standards.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and timing plans for projects from 50k to 20m.
• Coordinate and support third‑party contractors on site.
• Work with Operations, R&D, Marketing and Logistics to align scope, timelines and budgets.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve shared goals.
• Support environmental initiatives.
