Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool is seeking a Band 4 Cancer Support Worker to cover a 12-month maternity secondment on a part-time basis (22.5 hours across Mon, Wed, Thu). You will undertake holistic needs assessments, support patients and carers, and assist the clinical team with signposting services, ensuring compassionate, person-centred care.

The Gynae cancer team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band 4 Cancer Support Worker, to join the team in a cancer support worker role for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave.

The successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic about the specialist care needs of this patient group. They should be an outstanding communicator, able to demonstrate first-rate organisational and multitasking skills and have the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently in a busy and fast paced work environment. You should possess advanced computer skills and a knowledge of community health services. They should be able to work well autonomously and as part of a strong multidisciplinary team in order to deliver and maintain a high quality of care.

Main duties of the job

The successful individual will have a role in contributing to the delivery of the Trust Objectives as well as objectives for the Gynae Cancer Service ensuring that the care delivered reflects the trusts vision and values.

The post holder will conduct holistic needs assessment and support to patients and their carer`s throughout their care pathway, as well as providing support to staff throughout the trust. The post holder will support the consultant and nursing team as well as signposting services for patients

Qualifications
  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C) or equivalent
