Job summary
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in Blackburn is recruiting a Senior Research Nurse/Team Leader for Cancer to support NIHR studies and clinical trials within oncology. You will work across clinics and offices, ensuring data capture and adherence to GCP standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
This training post (Band 5 rising to Band 6) offers development opportunities, flexible cross-site working, and involvement in breast, urology, colorectal and lung cancer research
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Experience in cancer care / oncology preferred.
- Clinical research experience advantageous.
- Ability to work across hospital sites and adapt to flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Ensure clinical trials and studies are registered and approved per NHS guidelines and ethics committees.
- Support investigators in obtaining approvals and favourable opinions.
- Familiarise with each protocol and apply in practice including documentation for safe conduct.
- Undertake study feasibility and staff training on new studies.
- Identify eligible participants and coordinate recruitment for local portfolio across sites.
- Facilitate informed consent and disseminate protocol amendments to staff.
