Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a registered nurse (Band 5) to support commercial and non-commercial cancer research trials. The role combines clinic work with office-based data collection and study setup, under supervision to progress to Band 6 as training and skills develop.

You will join a small cancer research team, providing cross-cover across urology, breast, colorectal and lung studies, with flexible hours and site-based responsibilities across Burnley and Blackburn.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the clinical research process in NHS settings.
• Experience as a band 5 nurse in cancer care.
• Flexibility to work across hospitals and clinics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trials are registered and approved by NHS organisations and ethics committees.
• Support investigators with approvals and documentation.
• Coordinate recruitment and consent processes for studies.
• Maintain study site files and monitoring activities.
• Deliver nursing care within trial protocols.
