Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Patient Pathway Support Coordinator in the cancer services department to support data collection and entry for cancer patients, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data is processed in a timely and effective way. The role involves data handling, liaison with MDT members and other professionals to support cancer pathway delivery across Trust

Qualifications

• Essential: good general education and numeracy/literacy levels.
• Desirable: NVQ 2 Admin proficiency.
• Experience handling confidential information and data management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant health care systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely data collection for designated tumour site areas.
• Respond to data quality queries with the Cancer Pathway Coordinator to ensure timely updates.
• Support tracking of patients on cancer pathways following protocolised guidance.
• Liaise daily with nursing, administrative staff, doctors and MDT members.
• Request histology, imaging and referral information for MDT discussion from internal and external sources.
• Collaborate with Cancer Pathway Coordinators to maintain best practice.
• Provide annual leave and sickness cover to maintain service continuity.
• Ensure co-ordinated service delivery across Trust sites.
• Cross-hospital-site work may be required to meet service needs.
• Assist in collecting minimum datasets for referrals between teams.
