Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist with genomics experience to deliver and lead a high-quality diagnostic laboratory genetics service at the Leeds Central Genomics Laboratory. You will provide scientific leadership for a defined clinical area and advise consultants and service users.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term role based at St James's University Hospital, with potential hybrid on-site/remote working and involvement in national best-practice

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Clinical Scientist with genomics experience or trainees on an accredited programme with genomic exposure.
• MSC or PhD in Genetics with laboratory/analytical experience in a clinical setting.
• HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with genomics experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and scientific development of a high-quality diagnostic laboratory genetics service.
• Scientific leadership in service provision for the specified clinical area.
• Provide advice to consultants and other service users; contribute to national best-practice policy.
