Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Operations Coordinator for the Cancer Care team. The role focuses on coordinating patient pathways, improving service delivery, and driving continuous improvement across Haematology and Cancer Care.

You will line manage Specialty Administrative Team Leaders, monitor performance using RTT data, and support senior managers while maintaining high-quality patient care and effective resource coordination.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or possessing an equivalent level of experience, training, and knowledge.
• Excellent IT skills and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Previous NHS administration experience with eCamis and NHS procedures.
• Ability to analyse and interpret performance report information.
• Organisational knowledge of admin procedures and working processes.
• Experience in a supervisory role and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support operational delivery across Haematology and Cancer Care services, ensuring patient pathways meet standards.
• Use RTT and data to monitor performance, validate pathways, and produce reports and insights.
• Coordinate operational pressures, escalate risks, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Provide leadership through line management, staff development, and service improvement projects.
• Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills under pressure.
