Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Cancer Care Co-ordinator to provide information and support to people with cancer, helping them navigate health and social care and make choices that suit their lives.

You will organise daily service operations, attend and present at cancer conferences, maintain records and statistics, and work with regional teams to share best practice while complying with policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3/4 in Health or Social Care or equivalent.
• 5 GCSEs with C or above including Maths and English.
• Counselling qualification and Basic Cancer Course are required.
• Foundation degree/diploma level or equivalent through short courses.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient and public involvement activities to promote the service and events.
• Present/attend cancer conferences locally and regionally as required.
• Organise day-to-day running of the service and respond to email enquiries.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
• Coordinate with region to adopt best practice and share knowledge.
• Use databases and computer packages to maintain records and generate statistics.
• Coordinate handover with other teams for safe care transitions.
• Document and monitor care coordination and support data collection for audits.
• Demonstrate excellent organisational skills.
