Job summary

The University of Bath is seeking an Accommodation Security Officer (Community and Emergency Response) to help safeguard students, staff and the campus. Based at Bath, you will support security across campus and student accommodation with a strong focus on pastoral care and customer service.

You will work a 38.5‑hour week on a rotating shift that covers 24/7, with 15% shift allowance and a 10% market supplement. DBS check and continuing training are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and ability to support students and staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy in pastoral care.
• Ability to produce accurate, well‑structured reports.
• Capable of prioritising tasks during busy periods and conflicting demands.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence (manual).

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment across campus and student accommodation.
• Provide pastoral care, guidance and high‑level customer service.
• Write clear, accurate incident and security reports.
• Support team operations and participate in 24/7 rotating shifts.
