Job summary

University of Bristol’s Security Services invites applications for a Security and Campus Safety Officer. You will join an Operational Security Team providing a service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including patrols, alarms, and the 24/7 Control Room.

The role offers professional security training, a rotating 12-hour shift pattern and an average of 35 hours per week over a 12-month period. Full UK driving licence is essential; SIA licencing is desirable with full training provided.

Qualifications

• SIA license desirable; training provided to obtain licencing.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Foot and mobile security patrols.
• Engage with staff, students, and visitors.
• Monitor and respond to critical and life safety alarms.
• Operate a 24/7 Security Control Room.
• Provide emergency first responder services.
• Enforce car parking regulations.
• Promote crime reduction and personal safety awareness.
• Liaise with emergency services as required.
