Job summary

Gloucestershire College is seeking a Facilities Assistant to help keep our campus safe, secure and welcoming. The role includes opening and closing buildings, responding to alarms and emergencies, completing hazard checks, and maintaining records.

You will support fire evacuations and assist with day‑to‑day site operations, room set ups, deliveries and minor maintenance tasks. During busy periods you may assist Reception with visitor reception, phone inquiries and post handling, while working

Qualifications

• Experience working with customers or members of the public.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Willing to complete Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Open and close College buildings, respond to alarms and emergencies, and deal with hazards.
• Carry out routine safety checks and maintain accurate records.
• Support fire evacuations and emergency procedures when required.
• Assist with day‑to‑day site operations, room set‑ups, deliveries and minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist Reception during busy periods by welcoming visitors, answering phones and handling post.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
