Atlas Workplace Services Maintenance Engineer Role at Liverpool John Moores University
Atlas Workplace Services is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Liverpool John Moores University. You will support a static engineering team in delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), remedial, and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain Atlas engineering standards and demonstrate associated competencies.
- Perform PPM, remedial, and reactive works, focusing on low-risk PPM activities and compliance tasks.
- Keep the Customer and team informed through feedback and updates.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality service aiming for 100% Customer satisfaction.
- Ensure value for money by verifying resource and material suitability, and prepare details for minor works quotations.
- Report performance to your Building Services Supervisor.
- Ensure safe delivery of all works, including those by service partners.
- Liaise with colleagues, schedulers, supervisors, and sub-contractors to meet contract SLAs.
- Build relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Regularly update the Maximo CAFM system via your tablet and record all time accurately.
- Own the quality of your work to provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain campus facilities, including plant rooms and engineering equipment.
- Be the campus expert on equipment locations and assist as needed.
- Act as the first point of contact for sub-contractors and facilities managers.
- Perform all reasonable requests from management.
- Participate in out-of-hours call-out responsibilities on a roster basis.
About You
Minimum Qualifications, Certifications, and Training
- GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
- City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant M&E, Building Services, or maintenance discipline.
- Legionella (L8) training and competence.
- Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment, preferably across multi-site and multi-discipline service delivery.
- One year of experience in a customer-facing role.
- Background in mobile engineering or property maintenance.
- Proficiency with modern office software and asset/work management systems like MAXIMO or CAFM on Android tablets.
- Strong competencies in building services trades and hands-on skills in building maintenance.
- Experience in delivering L8 compliance maintenance.
