Job summary

Widener University is seeking a skilled Locksmith/Mechanic to join the Facilities Management Department. This role ensures the upkeep of campus buildings, supports the locksmith function, and contributes to safety and reliability of building systems.

The ideal candidate has extensive locksmithing experience, strong preventive maintenance skills, and the ability to read blueprints and safety codes. Weekend and emergency duties may be required to support campus operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in building maintenance or related trade.
• Minimum 5 years of locksmithing experience.
• CRL designation or approved equivalent.
• Proficiency in preventive maintenance and emergency shutdowns.
• Ability to read technical documents and safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair building systems and equipment.
• Inspect buildings and roofs; perform preventive maintenance.
• Install, repair, and adjust locks and related components; fabricate keys.
• Coordinate with other trades for multi-trade projects.
• Support emergencies, snow removal, and event setups.
