Job summary

GBS is seeking a skilled IT Technician in Leeds to ensure students and staff can work and learn without interruption. You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of technology needs, handling face-to-face IT services on campus and contributing to secure, resilient systems.

The role focuses on hardware/software setup, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance, with opportunities to advance skills in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles (CompTIA Network+/CompTIA Security+).
• Hands-on experience with OS and software installation, networks, and administration.
• Experience providing IT support in person and remotely (phone/online chat).
• Knowledge of ITIL best practice and service management systems.
• Familiarity with Windows-based systems incl. MS Exchange and Active Directory.
• Understanding of backup, recovery procedures and system monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, face to face IT services to students and staff on GBS campuses.
• Provide technical support for Audio Visual and IT equipment setup and moves.
• Set up PC/laptop equipment with OS and software, including drivers.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose issues and apply solutions per guidelines.
• Maintain records/logs of loan equipment, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
• Follow security and privacy guidelines for networks and computer systems.
