Job summary

Aberystwyth University is seeking Hospitality Assistants to join our Trading & Hospitality Services on Penglais Campus. You will help deliver a high-quality food and drink offer across cafés, bars and shops, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

The role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach, and a willingness to learn Welsh. It is part of a large team and may involve working across campus in various outlets, with health and safety policies in place.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a relevant environment.
• Experience of having worked successfully as a member of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills to receive, understand and convey straightforward information.
• A flexible working attitude and willingness to learn Welsh.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest levels of customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Be knowledgeable of products sold, including allergens, prices and provenance.
• Maintain counters, serveries and customer areas to high cleanliness standards.
• Maintain stocks in front of house and replenish displays as directed by the line manager.
• Comply with HACCP, COSHH and university health and safety policies.
• Attend team meetings when required.
