Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Estates/Maintenance Assistant for a temporary role in Kendal, based on a college campus. The position is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £13 per hour. A current DBS is mandatory.

You will perform maintenance, security checks, on-site presence, and event preparation, while protecting people and property. The role requires a proactive approach to safety, excellent customer service, and the flexibility to work occasional weekends or events.

Qualifications

• Previous handyman experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Performing general maintenance duties like changing lightbulbs, fixing door handles, and painting.
• Patrolling buildings to maintain safe access and ensure security.
• Securing the premises at the end of each day.
• Being a visible presence on site to deter unruly behaviour.
• Responding to first aid needs and emergencies.
• Conducting daily litter picks and managing recycling bins.
• Delivering parcels and preparing rooms for various events.
• Addressing immediate estate issues and hazards.
