Job summary

BIMM University is seeking a Campus Experience and Security Supervisor for our Essex campus. You will be the visible on-site presence, welcoming students, staff and visitors while helping to create a safe, well-organised and welcoming environment.

The role combines front-of-house duties with operational, security and administrative tasks, including access control, sign-ins and emergency procedures. Two part-time posts are available: 18 hours per week.

• Experience in front-of-house, reception, security or customer-facing role.
• Calm, approachable manner with ability to engage a wide range of people.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Understanding of health, safety and safeguarding considerations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact on campus, welcoming students, staff and visitors.
• Provide clear information and guidance around campus services.
• Maintain a visible front-of-house presence on campus.
• Support secure opening and closing of buildings per procedures.
• Monitor access control and ensure safe building entry.
• Manage visitor sign-in and issue passes per health & safety rules.
• Keep accurate records in visitor/key management systems.
• Assist with emergency procedures and evacuations.
• Coordinate deliveries and log logging of items.
• Support ID card services and new requests.

Location: Essex

Salary: £29,172 – £35,464 per annum (FTE)

About the Role

As Campus Experience and Security Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in how students, staff and visitors experience the campus day to day. You’ll be a visible and approachable presence, helping to create an environment that feels safe, well organised and welcoming.

The role combines front-of-house activity with operational, security and administrative responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a key point of contact on campus, providing a professional and inclusive welcome to students, staff, visitors, contractors and industry guests.


• Offer clear information and guidance, helping people navigate campus services and facilities.


• Maintain a visible front-of-house presence that contributes to a positive and engaging campus environment.


• Support the secure opening and closing of buildings in line with agreed procedures.


• Monitor and manage access control, ensuring buildings are accessed safely and appropriately.


• Manage visitor sign-in processes and issue passes in line with health and safety requirements.


• Keep accurate records using visitor, key management and related systems.


• Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations and routine system checks.

What You’ll Bring

• Confidence using systems and maintaining accurate records.


• An understanding of health, safety and safeguarding considerations in a public-facing setting.


• Sound judgement and the ability to work independently within established procedures.

To support campus operations and student activity, we are recruiting for two part-time positions (18 hours per week). The successful candidates will be required to work set shift patterns, including evenings and Saturday working, as follows:

• Post 1: Monday to Wednesday; 3:00pm to 9:00pm.


• Post 2: Thursday and Friday; 3:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday; 8:30am to 2:30pm.
