Job summary

University of Bristol is looking for a Catering Chef to join the Campus Division - Catering. The role involves preparing high-quality meals, planning menus for daily service and events, and maintaining rigorous food hygiene practices.

The successful candidate will support the Head Chef, train staff, and oversee ordering and delivery processes for provisions. Full-time, Grade E, 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High level culinary skill with ability to prepare varied meals to a high standard.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
• Ability to train and induct staff, including temporary staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in planning menus for meals, functions, and special occasions.
• Monitor hygiene standards by checking cleaning schedules and food/equipment temperatures.
• Coach and train staff and induct temporary staff.
• Prepare orders for provisions and ensure deliveries are accurate and stored correctly.
