Job summary

University of the Arts London is seeking a Community Advocate to help build belonging for students through welcoming activities in shared indoor and outdoor spaces. You will work with a fellow Advocate to plan and deliver an inclusive programme shaped by students, with sessions that are creative, social or wellbeing-focused, including seasonal gardening.

As part of a small team, you’ll plan development, promotion and delivery, manage a modest budget, and ensure activities are accessible, safe

Qualifications

• Friendly, welcoming and proactive attitude with genuine interest in community building and student wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Reliable, organised and capable of taking initiative when planning or running events.
• Passionate about inclusion, accessibility and sustainability.
• Experience in event or activity planning, facilitation or volunteer coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an engaging inclusive community programme across shared spaces.
• Host regular community meet days and open sessions for ideas and activities.
• Facilitate gardening and outdoor wellbeing activities and seasonal programmes.
• Plan, promote, source materials and refreshments for sessions.
• Coordinate schedules with other student and advocate programmes.
• Manage a small budget for materials and events.
• Ensure activities are risk-assessed, accessible and safe.
