Job summary

Heriot-Watt University is recruiting a Cleaning Supervisor for the Scottish Borders campus to lead the in-house cleaning team and ensure high standards of cleanliness across student accommodation, public areas and offices.

The role involves day-to-day supervision, planning of daily work schedules, stock management and quality control, with a full-time pattern including weekends and statutory days. A proactive, customer-focused approach is essential.

• Experience of working within a similar environment
• Experience or relevant qualifications in the hospitality industry

Responsibilities

• Day to day responsibility for all Heriot-Watt cleaners, directing, supervising,training and motivating to deliver the cleaning schedule for all the designated areas
• Planning and implementing daily work schedules and staffing levels in keeping with the demands of the business
• Ensure all buildings, residences, offices, classrooms etc served by the team deliver a positive impression and are maintained to meet customer expectations and service level agreements
• Work with the Facilities Supervisor, Operations manager and Deputy Village manager to forward plan staff and work schedules for all areas to meet the requirements of the business throughout the year
• Be responsible and accountable for quality control inspections, audits of accommodation and follow up where required. Manage stock levels and be accountable for same
