Job summary

RNN Group in Rotherham is seeking a Caretaker and Estates Operative to help ensure a safe, welcoming campus for students, staff and visitors. This permanent full-time role (37 hours per week) follows a shift pattern of mornings and afternoons, with a closing date of 12 October 2026.

You will participate in opening/closing, maintain security, keep areas clean, support health and safety, prepare rooms, and assist with storage and minor repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance/security/caretaking roles, preferably in education.
• Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to work toward.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure college premises and manage security during all open hours.
• Keep buildings and grounds clean; manage refuse and waste.
• Promote health and safety by keeping corridors clear and exits accessible.
• Prepare rooms for use and assist with moves or rearrangements.
• Deliver post and parcels to correct areas to support campus operations.
• Assist routine maintenance and recommend improvements.
• Respond to emergencies including evacuations and lift breakdowns.
• Provide First Aid as required.
