Job summary

Human Appeal is seeking a Logistics Assistant for the Wrap Up Campaign to coordinate stock movements, manage inventory, and support volunteers. You will work with internal teams and partners to ensure timely distribution of campaign materials throughout the winter period.

The role offers hands-on experience in charity operations, stakeholder engagement, and campaign delivery, with opportunities to improve logistics processes and ensure safe handling of stock.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Experience in logistics, warehousing, charity campaigns, events, retail operations, or community programmes.
• Experience coordinating deliveries, stock management, or operational activities.
• Experience working with volunteers, customers, or community stakeholders.
• Experience sorting and quality-checking donated items or stock.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to drive hired vehicles, including large vans.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle campaign materials.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams familiarity.
• Ability to learn inventory management and CRM systems.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of campaign stock between storage, collection points, and distribution sites.
• Support transport planning and route coordination for timely deliveries and collections.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
• Receive, sort, and quality-check donated items and store safely for distribution.
• Process requests for campaign materials and beneficiary distributions.
• Assist with deliveries, collections, and distributions across locations.
• Support induction, coordination, and supervision of campaign volunteers.
• Ensure materials and stock are prepared for scheduled activities.
• Engage with donors, volunteers, community groups, and partner organisations.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment safety checks and report issues.
• Identify and resolve operational and logistical issues; escalate risks as needed.
• Maintain campaign records, stock reports, and logistics documentation.
