Job summary

Oxford Health seeks a Mental Health Practitioner to join its CAMHS team, delivering recovery-focused care to children and young people in mental health crisis. You will assess needs, manage risk, coordinate interventions and work with families across Oxfordshire in a seven-day community service. A DBS check is required.

You will join a supportive specialist team with expert supervision, development towards Band 6, and opportunities for learning and staff wellbeing within NHS Trust settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Mental Health Nurse, Children’s Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with mental health and community experience.
• Experience with risk assessment and management.
• Experience in CMHTs and multidisciplinary team settings.
• Willingness to travel between Trust sites and work across Oxfordshire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage risk for children and young people in acute mental health crises.
• Coordinate evidence-based interventions and hold a caseload.
• Collaborate with families, carers, schools, and partner agencies.
• Participate in seven-day rota with early, day, and weekend shifts and maintain clear clinical records.
