Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join the CAMHS team in Oxfordshire. This full-time role provides recovery-focused care to children and young people in mental health crisis, with community-based work across Oxfordshire and a seven-day rota.

You will assess needs and risks, coordinate evidence-based interventions, manage a caseload and work closely with families, schools and partner agencies. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Children's Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with mental health and community experience.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, maintain clear records and contribute to multidisciplinary working.

Job description

Are you an RMN, Social Worker or OT seeking a new challenge in CAMHS?, We are seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join our team! This full-time role provides recovery-focused care to children and young people in mental health crisis. Working across Oxfordshire within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team, you will assess needs and risks, coordinate evidence-based interventions, manage a caseload and collaborate with families and partner agencies. The seven-day community service includes weekends and bank holiday working., The Mental Health Practitioner is responsible for assessing children and young people experiencing acute mental health difficulties, identifying and managing risk, and coordinating evidence-based interventions that support recovery. The role includes holding and managing a caseload, responding to changes or deterioration in a young person's presentation, maintaining accurate and timely clinical records, and working collaboratively with families, carers, schools, CAMHS colleagues and partner agencies. The post-holder also contributes to multidisciplinary meetings, shift coordination, safeguarding, service development, audit and training, while maintaining professional registration, confidentiality and compliance with Trust policies. The Role involves flexible community-based working across Oxfordshire, independent travel between locations and participation in a seven-day rota operating between 8am and 8pm, including weekends and bank holidays.

We are seeking a registered Mental Health Nurse, Children's Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with relevant mental health and community experience. You will communicate confidently, assess and manage risk, prioritise effectively, maintain clear records and contribute to multidisciplinary working. Compassion, adaptability, resilience and a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive care are essential.

Please note that this role will require us to undertake a DBS check as a part of your onboarding.
