Job summary

A regional mental health services provider is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for their Canterbury and Coastal CAMHS Community team starting April 2026. The role involves providing mental health services to children and young people under 18 years. Candidates should have an MB BS or equivalent, full GMC registration, and specialist status. Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GMC with a Licence to Practise.
• On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT in psychiatry.
• Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Act as an autonomous, registered practitioner accountable for actions.
• Assess and develop care plans for complex patient needs.
• Provide patients and relatives with information and education.

Skills

Excellent knowledge in specialty

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty

Education

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification

Qualification in medical education
