Job summary

Avenues Group is seeking a part-time Support Worker based in Shrewsbury to provide day and night support for a gentleman with an acquired brain injury and mental health needs. You will be calm, reassuring, and capable of engaging in conversations about his interests, such as 80s music and local activities.

The role involves 14-hour shifts within a 7-day week, with some sleep-in shifts, and requires flexibility. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are advantageous.

• Calm, reassuring disposition for supporting someone with ABI and mental health needs.
• Good communication and engagement with the client on personal interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide day and night support to a gentleman with an acquired brain injury and mental health needs.
• Remain calm and reassuring during anxious moments.
• Engage in conversations about his interests (80s music, films, TV).
• Assist with daily activities and accompany outings within the local area.
