Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Night Care Worker to support residents overnight in a care home setting. You will assist with personal care, monitor wellbeing, and contribute to accurate record-keeping while maintaining a calm, dignified environment.

Full training is provided; you must hold PVG and be registered with SSSC, or be willing to join. A supportive night team and flexible shift patterns are offered to help balance family and work commitments.

Qualifications

• Patient and reliable with a calm approach to overnight care.
• Understanding dignity and safety in night shifts.
• Willing to work towards SVQ Level 3 if not held.
• PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration (or willingness to join).

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents with personal care during the night.
• Carrying out regular checks and responding to call bells.
• Supporting comfort, hydration and repositioning needs.
• Maintaining a quiet and reassuring environment.
• Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and reporting concerns.
• Completing accurate care records and handovers.
• Working closely with colleagues across the night shift.
• Supporting early morning routines where required.
