Job summary

Study Mind is seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 face-to-face tuition for a 15-year-old Year 11 student with an EHCP who has been unable to attend school due to OCD and anxiety.

The tutor will deliver GCSE Drama and GCSE Double Science, with sessions focused on building exam readiness, in a calm, low-pressure setting at the student’s home in Ingatestone, Essex. Flexibility around therapy and other commitments is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with OCD and anxiety.
• Proven ability to tutor GCSE Drama and GCSE Science at Key Stage 4.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 5 hours of 1:1 home tuition in a single day.
• Teach GCSE Drama and GCSE Science towards formal examination entry.
• Assess current levels and identify gaps in both subjects.
• Support planning for exam access arrangements and JCQ coordination.
• Adapt pace/content to the student’s emotional capacity while meeting timelines.
• Provide progress updates and participate in review meetings.
