Job summary

The Flour Pot Bakery in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Supervisor to keep café operations running smoothly, deliver excellent service, and support the store team. You will lead by example, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and help create a warm environment for staff and customers.

In this role you will assist in rota planning, stock management, and daily briefings while ensuring consistent product presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a café, bakery, or hospitality supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team-motivation abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the General and Assistant Manager in the day-to-day running of the store
• Supervise, motivate, and train front-of-house team members
• Deliver excellent customer service in line with Flour Pot standards
• Ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all customers
• Monitor product presentation and quality, ensuring consistent standards
• Assist in rota amendments, daily briefings, and shift planning
• Manage stock levels, including ordering and waste control
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene regulations
• Place orders for both internal and external suppliers
• Handle customer feedback professionally and efficiently
• Open and close the store, including cash handling and reconciliation duties
• Passion for food, coffee, and delivering exceptional service
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices (Level 2 Food Safety desirable)
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Barista experience is a strong advantage
