Job summary

Compass Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Cafe Manager to lead the catering operation at Asda Straiton. You will oversee day-to-day management, ensure strong financial controls, and motivate a team to deliver excellent service in a busy retail setting.

The role requires visible on-site leadership, responsibility for stock, HR duties, cash handling and adherence to company and ASDA standards. A rewarding benefits package complements the position.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in catering/retail.
• Strong customer service mindset and on-site presence.
• Experience with cash handling and till reconciliation.
• HR duties such as rotas, absence and performance management.
• Attention to stock control and daily stock takes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the self-service kiosk within the restaurant.
• Lead, motivate and develop a on-site team.
• Handle keyholding, opening and closing procedures.
• Oversee cash handling, till reconciliation and sales counting.
• Maintain stock control with regular stock takes.
• Manage HR tasks including rotas, absence and performance.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
• Ensure compliance with Compass and ASDA standards.

Salary: £28800 per annum

Shift pattern: 8am to 6pm

Location: Asda Straiton

We’re currently recruiting for a Cafe Manager to lead our catering operation at Asda Straiton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with drive, ambition and a strong customer‑first mindset who’s ready to take ownership of a busy retail catering environment.

About The Role

As Cafe Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the catering operation, ensuring excellent service, strong financial controls and a motivated team. You’ll be a visible leader on site, setting the standard and creating a positive experience for both customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the daily operation of the self‑service kiosk within the restaurant
• Leading, motivating and developing a team
• Keyholding duties, including opening and closing the site
• Cash handling, till reconciliation and sales counting
• Stock control and regular stock takes
• Managing HR‑related duties such as rotas, absence and performance
• Delivering excellent customer service at all times
• Ensuring compliance with Compass and ASDA standards
