Compass Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Café Manager for the Change Please Café at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. You will lead a team to deliver exceptional hospitality and drive social impact through employment and training opportunities.

You will focus on high standards of service, food quality, and safe, compliant operations while developing your staff and promoting the Change Please mission.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within a café, hospitality, retail or catering environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and leadership abilities.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Solid understanding of budget, financial controls and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving high-quality food and beverages to the highest standards.
• Managing café operations to ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team.
• Monitoring business performance, budgets, and financial controls.
• Completing weekly business returns and implementing action plans where required.
• Regularly reviewing KPIs and operational targets with your line manager.
• Ensuring the café is presented to the highest standards at all times.
• Supporting the recruitment, training, and development of team members.
• Maintaining full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company procedures.
• Promoting the values and mission of Change Please through excellent customer engagement and service delivery.
• Leading from the front and creating a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

Lead a Café That Changes Lives

We're recruiting an experienced Café Manager who is passionate about exceptional food, outstanding customer service, and creating a positive impact within the community.

Based at the Change Please Café at Musgrove Park Hospital, you'll play a key role in leading a team that delivers excellent food and service while supporting a social enterprise dedicated to helping people overcome homelessness through employment opportunities and training.

As Café Manager, you'll have the personality, leadership skills, and operational expertise to influence the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring an outstanding experience for every customer while developing and motivating your team to achieve their full potential.

What You'll Be Doing

• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Have experience leading and developing teams.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Be proactive, enthusiastic, and solutions-focused.
